Outside of private practice, Kathy has worked as a generalist clinical dietitian at South East Regional Hospital (Bega) on the hospital wards and in the community setting. She has experience on the Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation Wards at Bega and Renal, Stroke and Neurological wards at Prince of Wales Hospital. Working in the hospital and community setting exposed her to a wide range of dietetic related disease. Consequently, through her experience Kathy has gained a great level of compassion and empathy. She uses techniques of the Client Centred Care Approach, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Health Coaching to build a strong Therapeutic Alliance in supporting clients towards better dietetic and exercise habits. During private practice development, Kathy focused on building knowledge and expertise in understanding the Human Microbiome. She communicates the latest scientific research in an easy to understand fashion with practice tips helping to implement change in your everyday life. Kathy’s enthusiasm about food travels beyond the dietetic consults into your kitchen!
